It's that time of the year again. The days are getting shorter, and the temperature begins its descent and slowly prepares the environment for the cold season. The fog appears increasingly often because of the supersaturated humid air and with the first rays of sunlight mystical feasts for the eyes arise when the landscape is graced by them.
In this season you can literally say that you live a golden time. Several hours a day you have the golden hour that makes the landscape so magical. One of the reasons to explore the area in the morning and dare to walk around before sunrise without a guilty conscience.
Although we are lucky to enjoy the change at this time of year, for all other creatures it means a preparation for the cold season. The trees slowly lose their leaves after giving their last show of colour, the animals prepare their supplies, and everything slows down a bit with time.
But in the forests and in the more humid places there is an organism that feels at its best now and takes advantage of the time to spread.
Hidden among the falling leaves, their fruit bodies slowly emerge and show their full splendour. They can also be found on dead trees and thus on stumps covered with moss. Together with the surroundings they form an exciting contrast and delight every enthusiast. Even though they look like they are taking advantage of this time and expanding freely, they have their needs that must be taken care of. If those are covered, then an exciting fauna is born. One might almost think that they take advantage of the decay and are only found where life fades, but the truth couldn't be further from the truth. The closer you look, the more you see a wide variety of creatures using the mushrooms as an extended habitat. Be it to find shelter, but also to accumulate food, you will find a vast amount of diversity from snails, spiders, flies, centipedes, and other creatures.
This is the golden time and a chance not only to enjoy the splendour of colours, but also to admire nature nearby once again in peace and quiet. Enjoy the change because, as its nature is, it never stops and will always provide for transformation and something new.
